FOCUS: Indigenous Ways of Knowing / Engineering / Mathematics / Design / Art 

Participants will be working on a design for their tipi and the setting up of the tipi. Colouring/painting may be done post-workshop (1.5 hour workshop) or included (2 hours workshop). Includes history, geography, social studies, symbology and some language use. Colouring can be via coloured markers or acrylic paint.

Grade/unit: All ages and grades. Applicable to several units. 

School materials needed: Cardboard to make a mount for the tipi poles.

Provided materials: Mini tipi kits and everything for painting using acrylic paints. Outcome is a standing painted Mini Tipi per participant.

DURATION: 1.5 to 2 hour / class

COST: $200.00 presenter + presenter travel outside of Calgary [*Plus aide $100 for classes > 25]

            $150.00 / class for multiple classes in one location on one day [*Plus aide $75 for classes > 25]

            $25 / kit / youth (Indigenous youth in attendance are free.)
