This introduction workshop blends modern robotics with traditional Indigenous knowledge, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore innovation and culture. Through the lens of Two-Eyed Seeing, learners are introduced to the basics of robotics and coding while reflecting on their personal connection to technology, identity, and the natural world. Participants design and program robots to move in ways inspired by animals, traditional Pow Wow dances, and self-discovery exploring how movement, rhythm, and challenge can be expressed through machines. Along the way, they engage in discussions about technology and the importance of balance between progress and tradition. This workshop fosters creativity, critical thinking, and cultural pride, making space for learners to see themselves as innovators.
