This workshop blends the science of chemistry with Indigenous teachings to foster a deep connection to land, self, and community. Participants explore the properties of plant-based pigments while learning about the Four Sacred Medicines, the practice of smudging, and the Seven Sacred Teachings, each offering insight into balance, respect, and personal growth. Through hands-on experimentation and meaningful art-making, learners engage both scientific inquiry and cultural reflection, expressing their relationship to the land in vibrant, intentional ways. Rooted in Two-Eyed Seeing, this experience honors both Indigenous and Western knowledge systems.
